SCHWEITZER MOUNTAIN RESORT

JOB TITLE/DEPARTMENT: Server / Crow's Bench

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal - full time/part time

STARTING WAGE: $ 12/hr plus tips

SUPERVISORY: NO SUPERVISED BY: Crows Bench FOH Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: Serve food and beverages to Crow's Bench guests. Provide an excellent guest experience with menu knowledge, drink knowledge or suggestions, and attentiveness to guests' needs. Must be 19 years or older.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Will provide exceptional food, beer, liquor and wine service to Crow's Bench guests.
  • Will be accountable for having own bank and making change for guests.
  • Requires extensive guest interaction.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Responsible for daily paperwork and reconciliation.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and be accountable for enforcement of Idaho State Liquor and identification laws.
  • Will provide bottle service to guests tableside.
  • Requires the ability to interact with guests and customers of the resort in a friendly, professional, and accommodating manner every time.
  • Will perform opening and closing duties, including polishing and rolling cutlery, vacuuming, polishing glassware, keeping restaurant clean.
  • Will work as a team player to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible to keep up on side work while managing tables. Must be capable of managing and exceptionally performing multiple tasks simultaneously while paying attention to detail.
  • Responsible to help with hostess/busser/dish washer duties.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the menu and be able to identify potential allergens and give guests suggestions as needed.
  • Responsible to maintain a clean, professional appearance according to Crow's Bench dress code.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Combined standing/walking position for up to 8 hours per shift.
  • Required to lift over 25lbs frequently and over 50lbs occasionally.
  • Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level on a frequent basis; will use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. Worksite is 90% inside.
  • All sensory skills needed.
  • Serve guests indoors and occasionally outdoors.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Must have extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities. Responsibilities are listed as guidelines and are not limited to these items.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

SKILLS:
  • Cash handling, multi-tasking, communication.

EDUCATION:
  • Bar drink and food knowledge
  • English reading, writing, and communication
  • Basic math
  • Knowledge of Idaho State Liquor and identification laws

EXPERIENCE: Minimum six months of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence; wine knowledge preferred.

LICENSE NEEDED: Alcohol Awareness Training (may acquire during employment)

MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED: Coffee Grinder, Juicer, POS, Vacuum, dishwasher.

JUDGMENT/MENTAL COMPLEXITY: Moderate to high

REVIEW SCHEDULE: This position and the person filling it will be evaluated once a season.
