Job Description:

The Compliance Scientist I-II-III is responsible for the qualification, repair, maintenance and compliance of laboratory instruments and software. Essential responsibilities include:

  1. Perform preventative maintenance and qualification activities on laboratory instrumentation as directed.
  2. Implement appropriate computer operating system permissions to laboratory equipment workstations in order to comply with regulatory requirements.
  3. Diagnose laboratory equipment issues and perform the necessary maintenance to return equipment to a compliant functionality. Assist in other forms of troubleshooting as directed by the Supervisor.
  4. Prepare acceptance reports for laboratory equipment.
  5. Complete core training per procedures.
  6. Adhere to the pertinent aspects of plant safety programs and in keeping with GMP's or other regulations.
  7. Maintain and operate laboratory equipment to assure accuracy and confidence in performance.
  8. Perform computer systems backup as required and ensure data integrity is maintained.
  9. Create new procedures as needed.
  10. Participate in direct internal and/or external client interactions.
  11. Perform special assignments as directed by Supervisor.

In addition to above, Scientist II:

  1. Coordinate and lead group projects related to laboratory compliance and equipment qualifications.

In addition to above, Scientist III:

  1. Assist in training other analysts.
  2. Lead and coordinate implementation of improvements to laboratory compliance and equipment maintenance and qualification processes.
  3. Stay informed of changes to compendial requirements for laboratory equipment and implement within the required timeframe.
  4. Perform compliance related audits for laboratory equipment and associated workstations to ensure an appropriate level of compliance is maintained.
  5. Demonstrate leadership and subject matter expertise within the department and outside the department as needed.


Qualifications:

Scientist I:

  • Associates Degree in hard science + 2 years of solid lab experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related hard science preferred.
  • No Experience required With Bachelor's Degree in Hard Science or 0 to 3 year(s) related experience with Associates Degree in Hard Science.

Scientist II:

  • Associates Degree in hard science + 2-4 years of solid lab experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related hard science preferred.
  • Knowledge, practical application, and understanding of analytical instrumentation required.

Scientist III:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Chemistry, Biology or related hard science with 3 years of solid lab experience.
  • AA degree in hard sciences with 5 years of solid lab experience.
  • 3 years of pharmaceutical experience strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and good manufacturing practices desired.

All Levels:

  • Manual dexterity required.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel experience required.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, exposure to allergens, repetitive activity, prolonged sitting and standing.

Shift: Day

Compensation:

  • Scientist I - This position starts at $26.15 - $35.36 with opportunity for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
  • Scientist II - This position starts at $29.05 - $39.30 with opportunity for growth, promotion, and annual raises.
  • Scientist III - The salary range for this position is $65,479 - $93,500 depending on experience.
