Job Description

Ecolab, the global leader in water, hygiene and infection prevention solutions and services, is seeking a Senior Manager to join the company's Global Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional with strong crisis communications skills and knowledge of financial communications to help protect and enhance the reputation of a leading global sustainability company. The ideal candidate will be drawn to the scale of Ecolab's positive impact and the communications challenges that arise from serving millions of customers across more than 170 countries.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal partners including Safety Health & Environment (SHE), Corporate & Business Development, Investor Relations and global, divisional and market communications colleagues. A member of the SHE-led Ecolab crisis management function, they will understand the importance of timely internal and external communications advice when managing business, customer, and reputation-impacting events. They will be motivated by helping build a company's resiliency and providing strategic advice to leaders at all levels of an organization during challenging situations.

What You Will Do:

  • Protect and enhance the enterprise reputation of Ecolab
  • Lead crisis communications and provide issue management support for Ecolab's SHE team and business leaders across the company
  • Represent Global Communications on Ecolab's SHE-led crisis management team, connecting the right expertise and communication channels to response efforts
  • Support Investor Relations and Corporate & Business Development with high-profile financial communications, including annual reports and M&A activity
  • Advance Ecolab's storytelling capability by supporting editorial planning, spokesperson development, media measurement, and management of important media relationships for crisis communications and M&A-related activities.
  • Engage local, trade, business and global press outlets as company spokesperson, as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field
  • 8 years of professional communications experience, with relevant experience in agency and/or in-house communications roles
  • Demonstrated crisis communications experience, including providing communications and/or company spokesperson support for business, customer and reputation-impacting issues affecting a large, multinational corporation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial communications at a public-listed company, including direct knowledge of financial disclosure rules
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with strong knowledge of AP style
  • Excels at managing complex projects across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing the ongoing deployment and use of an employee emergency notification system
  • Experience project managing the delivery of high-profile financial communications, including a company Annual Report or M&A-related activities
  • Proven track record leading or supporting proactive media relations activities, including story development and pitching
  • An established network of journalists at online, print, and broadcast outlets in North America and beyond
  • Experience advancing B2B communications priorities for a global company in either the hospitality, healthcare, food and beverage or manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge and experience with media measurement and insights platforms
  • Work experience that demonstrates responsiveness, discretion, and sound judgement
