Job Description:

The main function for the SVP Manufacturing Specialist is to analyze present and proposed manufacturing processes and technologies to determine improvements to processes, equipment, and automation. This data is used to optimize manufacturing processes, meet present and new regulations, reduce waste, increase capacity, and develop and implement methods to increase thru-put while complying with cGMP's. Other essential responsibilities include:

  1. Provide effective day-to-day leadership and oversight for small groups ranging in size from two to twelve technicians.
  2. Identify applications where technology can be applied to improving SOPs, yields, increasing efficiency, and reducing waste.
  3. Evaluate and propose planning techniques to assist in the successful completion of defined projects.
  4. Assist in the selection and installation of manufacturing process equipment.
  5. Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to process problems in Manufacturing.
  6. Direct the integration of new products from Development into Manufacturing.
  7. Coordinate required activities with other departments as to ensure completion of defined projects.
  8. Write, review, and maintain documentation for multiple projects.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent - AND - at least 2 years manufacturing experience required. (Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or other scientific field is preferred, and can be substituted for 2 years of manufacturing experience)
  • Has proven leadership skills.
  • Prior pharmaceutical experience desired.
  • Manufacturing production and equipment operation experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. (Microsoft PowerPoint desired.)
  • Knowledge of other programs like SAP and ETQ is desired.
  • Mechanical Aptitude and Manual Dexterity required.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Systems required. Must be able to keep abreast of technological advances in automation, computerization, manufacturing techniques, and government regulations. Understand the concepts behind cGMP and packaging process, which include: checking productions schedule, getting required paperwork and labels, inspection, labeling, shrink wrapping and packaging.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Physical Requirements: Lift up to 60 lbs unassisted. 14/14 corrected near-point. Working in aseptic areas. Ability to perform repetitive activities required. Pushing, pulling, and twisting. Prolonged standing.

Shift: Nights

Compensation:

  • The pay scale for this role is from $29.05 to $39.30 per hour.
  • This position is eligible for a shift premium of $2.00 per hour worked between 3pm and 11pm, and $2.50 per hour worked between 11pm and 7:30am.
  • This position is eligible for an aseptic premium of $2.00 per hour worked in qualifying aseptic areas.
