About You

Our ideal candidate can envision the steps needed to accomplish and delegate tasks. They think creatively and outside the box. We're hoping to find a supportive leader who prefers team success over individual glory.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in hydrology, soil science, botany, ecology, resource management, or related field
  • 2 to 5+ years' experience in delineating wetlands, preparing wetland reports, conducting function assessments, and developing and implementing mitigation plans
  • Experience preparing environmental permitting documents including SEPA, NEPA, HPA, JARPA, and/or similar permits.
  • To thrive in this position, you may also have these qualifications:
  • In-depth training in at least one of the following areas: plant ecology, soils, or hydrology
  • Successful built projects and construction administration expertise
  • Ability to read and interpret ecological restoration construction plans
  • Professional Wetland Scientist certification or Wetland Professional In-Training
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead


About the Role

In this role, we'll count on you to:

  • Develop and interpret stream and wetland restoration plans, sustainable stormwater design plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and as-built plans under the support of senior staff
  • Coordinate with local design and construction teams, collaborate with other team members to collect and analyze field data to establish existing conditions, identify potential design constraints, determine design parameters, and post construction monitoring.
  • Assist in providing oversight during construction
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation associated with the restoration design process, including writing proposals, design summaries, mitigation plans, regulatory permit applications, cost/quantity estimates, bid documents, construction specifications, construction oversight reports, and post-construction monitoring
  • Conduct fieldwork, including site assessments and data gathering


Location

This position will support our Spokane office either in-person or remotely from the Inland Northwest. Occasional travel may be required to project sites in Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Oregon.
