Job Description:

The QC Scientist I performs the analysis on allergenic and client components, raw materials, intermediates, and finished products following written procedures, providing the data required to determine raw material/product dispositions. Essential responsibilities include:

1. Analyze raw materials, in-process, stability and final container products according to established procedures and as directed by the supervisor.
2. Record and review data in accordance with GxP to meet regulatory requirements and provide information relevant to product disposition.
3. Perform studies to assess product or procedural problems under the direction of the Supervisor.
4. Assist in other forms of troubleshooting/investigations as directed.
5. Prepare reports and assist with document revisions as directed by the Supervisor.
6. Maintain training compliance on all procedures.
7. Adhere to all aspects of plant safety programs and in keeping with GMP's or other regulations.
8. Maintain and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with procedure.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or related hard science. OR, AA degree in hard sciences with 2 years of solid lab experience.
• No experience required with BS degree, pharmaceutical experience desired.
• Lab experience required with AA degree, lab experience desired with BS degree.
• Knowledge of chemistry, statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and good manufacturing practices desirable.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Must demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
• Knowledge, practical application, and understanding of the sciences are necessary to perform the functions of this position.
• Must be self-motivated with good communication and human relation skills, and must be able to effectively schedule, prioritize, and organize their time.
• Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team setting supporting project teams as a Quality Unit representative.
• Accountability - freedom to act independently -is subject to practices/well defined policy, management reviews results after the fact.
• Accountability - influence on end results - provides analysis, diagnosis or production tasks which noticeably impact end results.
• Ability to lift [25] pounds unassisted, exposure to allergens, repetitive activity, and prolonged sitting/standing required.

Compensation:

• Scientist I: This position pays $26.15 to $35.37 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises.
