HDR is looking for an Eastern Washington Transportation Leader / Senior Project Manager for our Spokane, WA office. The Eastern Washington Transportation Lead's primary goal is to provide market leadership, grow client relationships, oversee a team of project managers, and deliver timely and quality service on projects to our clients, on schedule and on budget, while meeting HDR internal financial goals. Responsibilities will include business development, staffing and workload balancing, project planning and execution, staff development, hiring, profitability, and quality control.
This person will be tasked with successfully managing and delivering local projects, growing HDR's presence in the marketplace, representing clients' interests in a competent and professional manner to public officials and other necessary stakeholders, and ensuring work products adhere to industry and company standards. The Eastern Washington Transportation Lead also will work with our Transportation Business Group Manager and Transportation Business Development Leader to pursue new opportunities to grow the business. These marketing responsibilities will include client meetings, proposals, and positioning with clients. Additionally, the Eastern Washington Transportation Lead will engage with the broader Transportation Business Group for workshare opportunities. A strong history of successful completion of projects in a project manager or project director role is a must.

Primary Responsibilities

We'll count on this individual to:

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with a high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings
  • Conduct design development and contract document work sessions at the project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule
  • Work with the Accounting Manager, Project Controller, and Business Group Manager for project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans
  • Supervise large project teams and act as mentor for less-experienced project managers
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Construction or Engineering related fields
  • 15+ years of project management experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software (Primavera P3 or SureTrak preferred), project management software (Prolog preferred)
  • Skilled at interacting with various design teams in different locations
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and written and verbal communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

  • PE
  • PMP certification

Typical starting pay range for this position is $110,324 - $181,246 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
